Founded in 1804 as New York’s first museum; The New-York Historical Society is an American history museum and library located in Manhattan at the corner of 77th Street and Central Park West; Island Diversified was commissioned to reproduce the beautiful groin vault and barrel plaster ceilings in the main lobby, front rooms, as well as secondary spaces. The project consisted of careful demolition of existing surfaces, new supporting framing, and completion of finished surfaces. In addition, Island diversified completed vast flat wall plaster, and ornamental plaster repair/replacement within the building.
